Indian Institute of Public Administration, U.P. Regional Branch, Lucknow

U.P. Regional Branch of Indian Institute of Public Administration is a state level branch of the institute, with its office located in Jawahar Bhawan Lucknow. It is governed by Byelaws approved by its General Body. The Branch has its our Executive Committee as well as its General Body.

All member of the IIPA residing in Uttar Pradesh (excluding the members residing in the town or city for which Local branches have been constituted) are members of the Regional Branch.

Members also include Associate members, Corporate members and Honorary members but do not include Student members.

The U.P. Regional branch, in governance with the objectives of the institute (IIPA) generally organizes activities of the following types:-

1. Lectures, Seminars, Workshops related to the cause of public administration and governance.
2. Research Projects.
3. Training Programs.
4. Publications of a quarterly Newsletter Called Dynamic Administration.
5. Publications of books and Journals.
6. Foundations of study group to study current administrative problems.
7. Establishment of library and providing library service to members.
8. Undertaking joint programs in collaboration with other institutes.
9. Undertaking developmental activities with the cooperation of the state government.
10. Any activity contributing to the promotion of public administration.

U.P. Regional branch regularly forwards to the Director of IIPA an annual report of the previous financial year by the first week of June of the following year. Its Annual Accounts are audited by an Auditor appointed for the purpose and copy of the audited accounts are submitted every year, in June to the Director of the IIPA, along with the Annual Report of the branch.

At present, Sri R. Ramani, IAS (Retd), former Chief Secretary of UP is the Chairman of the U.P. Regional Branch and Sri Vidya Nand Garg, IAS (Retd), former Agriculture Production Commissioner is its Honorary Secretary. The other members of Executive Committee include invited retired IAS and retired IPS Officers, Educationists, export and engineers.
